Merrrrry Christmas!!!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful day.  I was a little sad going into today because it's the first time in my life that I was not in Seattle on Christmas morning.  A couple years ago I flew out early Christmas morning, but I was still at home for pizza and posole on Christmas Eve.  But, and nothing against Mom, Dad and Lizzle, I was actually really happy this year.  The four of us had a really nice day.  We're all exhausted and in some amounts of pain, but we're all happy and stuffed and relaxed.  And there are so few days where we really sit still and just hang out, especially this time of year with Carmen's travel, that it was really nice to reserve one for just the four of us.

Yesterday Jayden and I went to the park, and of course to the grocery store for the two, wait three, oh no four!, well, maybe I should get this too, last things I forgot.

It was "bwight" so he had to wear his sunglasses.
After his nap we met Carmen and we took Jayden to see his first movie.  We saw Frozen, which, by the way, is a great movie.  But Jayden was completely enthralled.  And he fully takes after his father and his Grandma Barb in that he downed an entire bag of popcorn all by himself.  And no, Mom, I did not ask him to share with me; I've learned my lesson.

Anyways, we had a lot of fun at the movie.
Jayden wouldn't look at the camera because he was too focused on the pre-movie entertainment.  Every time a preview ended he'd ask us "is it over?!?"  There were lots of kids in the theater, so it wasn't a big deal, mostly it was just funny.
Funny aside: there was a couple sitting in our row with their four year old.  Afterwards we were both waiting outside the bathroom together.  The dad and son come out of the bathroom and the dad tells the mom: "I think he just won himself good Christmas gifts for the rest of his life.  He told me if he gets coal from Santa it's okay because he'll just stand on it for 10,000 years until it turns into a diamond for Mom."  The mom turns to me and says "see, this is what Grandma teaches them."  I just laughed.  I love these stories!

Chowing down.  Mom are you jealous?!???
Afterwards we played on the ride-on toys at the mall for a bit and then came home to eat pizza, write a note to Santa and leave him cookies and carrots for the reindeer.  I realized later I forgot the milk, but oh well.  Next year we'll get it right.

Filling in the note for Santa.

Leaving the cookies and carrots.  Jayden kept trying to eat the cookies.  I had to explain they were for Santa.  He seemed very concerned about Santa coming to his house, so I had to explain it was safe, etc.  It didn't bother him during the night, which both Carmen and I were grateful for.

Family photo in front of the fireplace before Santa comes.

Santa visited!

Those three little blue presents in the front are the Santa presents.  :)
Jayden slept the entire night, which he's now done two nights in a row.  He wakes up around 6:00 am and wants to go back to bed.  Yesterday he crawled back in without me doing anything.  Today he told me "mommy, wait outside for me," which is what I tell him I will do when I put him to bed at night and he's feeling clingy.  I sit outside his room until he falls asleep.  So I got my blanket and the monitor and laid down in the hallway outside his room.  It didn't last long; about 30 minutes later he noticed it was light outside.  But I am not complaining about 6:30; that is just fine with me.  We got up and he ran straight to his advent calendar.  Today was #25, and his grand finale was a matchbox car transporter.  It's a tiny little thing, but it was a big hit.  We also did stockings before breakfast.  We then had our breakfast (the fastest breakfast we've ever had since Jayden knew there were presents waiting) and headed over to open the Santa presents.

Opening the card from Santa.  Probably the least interesting thing he did all day.

Checking out Daddy's Superman cufflinks from Santa.

I told him it was a dinosaur and he said "no, mommy, it's no dinosaur.  It's backpack!"  So yeah.  Oh well.

I was convinced our present opening was going to take hours, if not days.  Turns out Jayden loooooves opening presents and ripped everything open, including a page in a book Grandma Barb got him, in about 45 minutes.  He was so fast, it was amazing.  He managed to play with most things too, but definitely had some fun ripping up wrapping paper.

He was a big fan of the bike from Grandma Gigi, the "houses" from Auntie Ellen and the easel from Grandma Barb.  He really wanted to paint, but I wasn't prepared for paint today so I told him we'll wait until we get home from Seattle.  He did enjoy drawing with chalk and with pens, though.

Jasmine is not sure about the bike.  Neither was Jayden at first but as the day went on he was more and more proud of it.

Playing trucks in and around the garage.

Goofing off with Daddy and Jazzy in front of the Garage.

We tried to feed him lunch, but he was so exhausted that he barely made it.

After his nap we played for a bit and then it was time for dinner:

And some music, of course (there's supposed to be a video here, if it doesn't work I'll try later):

All in all, it was a wonderful happy exhausting day.  I can't believe I'm getting on an airplane in about 14 hours, but if I can just get to the airplane, hopefully everything will be okay.  I'm bringing all the tricks I have; we'll see how it goes.  Today just made me look forward to every Christmas in the future, and hoping Jayden approaches it with the same joy that he approached today.

p.s.  There's a definite possibility that the videos will not work.  If so, I'm sorry.  I'll try it again either later or tomorrow.

So busy relaxing!

My mom reminded me that I forgot to mention Jayden's haircut!  He and Daddy went to the barber shop last weekend and got a haircut.  I decided not to go in with them, again, because he is so much more emotional around me.  Carmen promised me he got a picture for me, but I still haven't seen it.  If I ever get it from him, I'll share it.  Or I'll just share one from the next haircut we get.  :)

Anyways, Jayden was great.  The barber, DJ, even used the clippers on him to trim the back and the sides and Jayden sat still the entire time.  He even climbed into the chair himself.  It was pretty awesome, from what I hear.  He also got a lollipop at the end, so that pretty much makes the whole day a good day in his book.

Jayden and I went to swimming lessons on Saturday morning for the first time in a few weeks.  And Jayden was great.  He was SO excited to be in the pool again and to splash, and he was totally comfortable, which was awesome.  Ms. Stacy asked if we'd been avoiding her and I explained not so much - unless Jayden subconsciously broke his arm to avoid the pool.  But based on his reaction yesterday, he would much rather go to swimming lessons every day, if he could.  One more reason for me to be a stay at home mom; I could take him to the swimming pool at least a few times a week!  (I'm building up the arguments so that when I present them in however many years to Carmen I've got everything in order).

At swim lessons I realized everyone takes cards and little gifts to their swim teachers.  So Jayden and I went home, showered and went back to the pool to take Ms. Stacy a little gift (cookies) and a Holiday card.  And while I was out, I took a card and cookies to Ana, the photographer, and picked up our Santa pictures!

I don't have the digital images yet, so I took a page from my sister's book and took a photo of the photo.
This is as close as Jayden would get to Santa.  But what made him laugh was bubbles popping on Ana's nose.  Awesome. Luckily Ana is down for anything and must have let 459 bubbles pop on her face just to get Jayden to smile, sort of.
Carmen came home Saturday afternoon and he met us for lunch.

Playing air hockey with Daddy.

Concentrating on putting the puck in the goal, dropping it, getting out of the bottom and starting all over again.  We had to pretend the puck was "lost" in order to get in the car to get home.
We got to see the Christmas boat parade on Saturday night.  I unfortunately did not get a single picture.  Sometimes I'm very on top of it and sometimes I'm really not.  Jayden had a great time - jammin' to the music coming from the boats and exclaiming over all the different lights.  Carmen and I also got to hang out with a few friends who we hadn't seen in forever, so that was nice for us as well.  I'm just so bummed I didn't get any pictures.  Oh well.

Yesterday we hung around the house in the morning, taking it easy since all of us were pretty tired and then went to the park in the afternoon, before hitting the grocery store to see what was left over for us for Christmas dinner.  ;)

Our little Superman at our favorite park.  He was a little more cautious than he has been before.  But the park was also crowded with all kinds of kids running like crazy.

Rockin' out in the lemon.
Carmen had to leave again last night.  And of course Jayden woke up in the middle of the night - again!  So from 3ish to 6ish I was on the floor of his room.  Luckily I was exhausted so I passed out hard and didn't feel so terrible today.  We'll see how tonight goes.  I did get to sleep in my bed until almost 7, so that was a treat.

Jayden and I had another low-key day.  We made a boat out of a cardboard box in the backyard and "rowed" with our outdoor brooms.

We went to my friend's house for "lunch" at 3 pm, after Jayden had eaten lunch and had his nap.  It was the nicest he has ever been to me going down for a nap.  We went upstairs to brush teeth and read a book.  We read a book and then sat in the chair.  He looks at me and says "I go sweep?"  I told him yes, it was time to sleep, but that when we woke up we'd go see Stacy, Kamal and Cathy and we'd have a cookie.  So he said ok.  He curled up in my arms and passed out a few minutes later.  It was so pleasant and made my entire day that much more pleasant.  And he slept pretty well, even sleeping through a doorbell, a dog barking and a conversation with the postman.  We then had a great time with my friends - Jayden is very charming and is very well-behaved.  I've had so many people compliment him recently on how mellow he is, how well-behaved he is, how coordinated he is, how well-spoken he is.  It makes me feel very lucky.  And very proud.  He's just such a good kid.  I feel like I say that at least once per post.  But he is.  And maybe someday he'll read this and know how special he is.

This is what our tree looks like:

It's kind of dark, but this picture is much better than the one with the flash.

Yesterday I got home from a run and wasn't feeling well - I was lightheaded and a little nauseous.  I sat down on the stairs and he ran over and kneeled next to me and said "Mom, you ok?!?" with some serious concern in his voice.  Anytime I say "ow," he asks where it hurts and he plants a big on the spot.  He loves to do "butterfly kisses" where he smashes his cheek into my eye, and nose kisses, where we sometimes touch noses and sometimes just move our faces back and forth in front of each other.  And he tells me he loves me without prompting, saying "wuv you too mommy."

I don't know if I'll get to post tomorrow.  If I don't, Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Yay!

Totally and completely selfishly, I am SO glad that today has come and gone.  It means I am on vacation for about 10 days.  And that maybe, just maybe, I can catch a break.  I swear, over the last few weeks things have gone wrong, have gone backwards, have just gone awry generally.  And I am ready, more than ever, for some time off.

Some exciting things that have happened recently:
Jayden's arm is healing just right and he got his cast off!

Monday when I picked Jayden up from daycare, Tayla came running up to me asking if she could sign Jayden's cast.  I of course said yes.  Apparently Juju had told her nobody could sign it unless I said yes.  So the minute I said yes Tayla grabbed a pen and began writing.  Tayla signed her name and Mia's name and Tymen signed his name and Owen's name.  Lucas and Kennedy weren't there, so they were out of luck.
For the next 24 hours, until we got the cast off, Jayden would "read" the names on the cast to me.  And he actually got them right.  I'm guessing he must have memorized the locations, or the shape or something.  Otherwise I'm not really sure how he would know whose name was whose.  But he got it right every time so there's got to be some explanation.
No cast!!!
Jayden was amazing.  I sat him in my lap when the tech brought out the cast saw, expecting to have to restrain him.  But he sat there completely silent and still the entire time.  And then when it was off he looked at it, looked at me, looked at his wrist and started wriggling his wrist and shaking it.  I think he was more ready to get that thing off his arm than I realized.
We had to go get x-rays next, to make sure it was healing properly, which I was also worried about.  As we were walking in to the room, I heard the tech whisper to the x-ray tech "he's a really good kid."  It's a little thing, but I was kinda proud.  He IS a good kid.  But it's cool when total strangers recognize it.

Carmen left Thursday morning.  His company Holiday party was Thursday night.  We didn't know he was leaving until recently so I'd already scheduled Katrina to come babysit.  Instead of cancelling, I decided to keep her and I went out by myself.  Jayden was completely hysterical when I left, screaming and crying and telling me to get his jacket (so he could come with me).  I told him "it's okay, I'm coming back."  So he started hysterically sobbing "don't come back.  doooonnnnn't coooommmme baaaaack!"  So then I was just confused.  Katrina said he settled down after 20 minutes or so, which means he probably settled down just in time to go to bed.  Oh well.  One of these days maybe he'll actually get to play with Katrina.  I think we maybe should leave them during the daytime some time so that she actually has the opportunity to play with him and he has the opportunity to have fun with her.  We'll work on it.

I've baked 23,455 different kinds of cookies this week.  Really it's just three.  But it feels like more.  On Wednesday night I made some cookie dough while I was making dinner.  Jayden was of course intrigued by the beaters, so he "helped" me mix the dough.  We gave some of those cookies to Juju today with her card and present and so then Jayden decided he wanted one.  As we were getting in the car we were talking about having a cookie when we got home.  He looks at me and says "mommy, you have cookie."  I told him that sounds great, I think I would have a cookie.  He says "No, Mommy, you have one cookie."  So I asked him how many cookies he could have and he said "I have twooooooo, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten!"  I just started laughing.  He's hilarious.

Thursday morning his face was a mess from oatmeal and yogurt.  I told him so and he said "I see it."  So I took a picture.  And this is what it looked like.  Cute picture, even though he's a mess.

Messy face.

I see it!
He's a funny kid.

Yesterday we got a delivery of about eight boxes, including the treadmill that Carmen bought me for Christmas.  Turns out that treadmill weighs 197 pounds, literally.  And I had to figure out how to maneuver that gigantic box through the front door by myself since Carmen is out of town.  I was pushing and pulling and lifting and sliding and the whole time Jayden was helping me.  I was pulling from the front end and he'd go around the back and push and go "ooohhhhhffff" along with me.  It was awesome.  Clearly he did nothing to help me.  But I love the fact that he just started helping.  I didn't ask him to do it, he just jumped in.  It made my arms sting a little less when I finally got the monstrous thing in the door.

If anyone knows any magical spells I can put on Jayden to get him to sleep 11 hours a night, please send them over ASAP.  He has been sleeping terribly for the past few weeks.  Only once, maybe twice a week does he sleep through the night.  And he rarely sleeps past 6:00 am.  Today he was awake at 4:45 am.  And when I say "awake" I mean AWAKE.   There was no convincing the kid that it was still pitch black outside and still the middle of the night.  I'd tell him so and he'd say "Mommy, I need turtle."  "Mommy, it dark outside?!?"  "Mommy, Daddy in Fworda?"  "Mommy, I go Jujus?"  "Mommy, my advent cawendar?"  So yeah, not exactly in the mood for sleeping.  But I'm open to any and all ideas, short of doing something that will get me in trouble with Child Protective Services.

"cold"

I'm not crazy enough to say that we're "suffering" through a "cold spell" in California.  But it has been chilly in the mornings - about 40 degrees when we go for our morning walks.  And while that's nothing compared to the rest of the country, for us thin-blooded folks, that's downright freezing.  There's even frost on the grass when we walk in the morning!

Because all of us have been suffering from runny noses and general congestion over the past week, we've been trying to convince Jayden to wear a hat.  The hardest part of this is that Jayden does not actually own any winter hats that fit him.  One is coming in his stocking (and maybe in his advent calendar) because we are clearly going to need one in Seattle, but it is not yet officially his.

Sooo, in the meantime, we are trying to convince him to keep his head warm.  This weekend it worked . . . sort of.  Carmen had a hat on for their walk and I had a hat on for my run.  So this is what Jayden came up with:

Mommy, I no want to smile.

Allright, I'll give you this.  But that's all.

Having fun on the walk with Daddy.
It was a pretty good weekend.  Jayden is still having sleep issues, both naptime and nighttime.  I feel like he's just overly tired, but there's never enough time for him to catch up.  I'm hoping that next week, when I'm off for 10ish days, we'll be able to catch up and get back on schedule.  He's just been going to bed later (because that's how long it takes me to get dinner ready, let him run off his energy and then get him ready for bed) - tonight it was 9:00 pm before he finally settled down - and waking up early, like 5:30 am.  This morning he made it to 6:30 am, but that is definitely the exception over the past few weeks.

He has been very affectionate, telling me he loves me without me prompting him (which makes me OH so happy!) and giving lots of hugs and kisses.  He is very good at kissing us anytime we say "ow" and saying "you ok???" in a very concerned voice.

On Friday Tayla, one of the girls at daycare, asked me if they were allowed to sign Jayden's cast.  Juju wouldn't let them write anything until she asked me.  I said "of course," of course.  So Tayla and Tymen signed his cast for the two of them and Owen and Mia, the two little kids who also go to daycare.  I've been telling him all weekend that he needs to ask Lucas and Kennedy and Juju and Gloria to sign it tomorrow. Since it comes off Tuesday, this is pretty much their chance!  I plan to take a picture with all the signatures tomorrow.  So if I talk to anyone, please remind me.  I'm the queen of forgetting lately.

Hope you all had a good weekend.  I'm excited for this week to be the last week of work for a bit, even though it's going to be hectic and stressful.  But aren't they all, really?!?

Happy 27 months!!!

A candid shot:

And when I asked him to smile:

With Mater and Lightning!
I've let him watch pieces of Cars recently and now he adores Mater and Lightning even more. He can't understand why his squirty bath toys don't talk though.

(I tried to post this yesterday, which was officially 27 months, but it somehow didn't work. Hopefully this does.)

I like to . . .

eat - eat - eat - apples and ba-na-nas!

I don't know if any of you know this song, but it's awesome.  It's the easiest song to remember and apparently it's hilarious:

I like to Ate - Ate - Ate  Ay-pples and Ba-nay-nays!

I like to Eat - Eat - Eat  Ee-pples and Ba-nee-nees!

I like to Ite - Ite - Ite  Ii-pples and Ba-ni-nis!

I like to Oat - Oat - Oat  Oh-pples and Ba-No-Nos!

I like to Ute - Ute - Ute  Oo-pples and Ba-Noo-Noos!!!!!

If you need me to sing it for you, just call me up and make sure Jayden's in the room so you can hear him sing along and barely get through the Ba-ni-nis part without dissolving into giggles.  Happy Tuesday y'all.

WHY?

So I got my first taste of "why" today.  It was awesome.  I forget what I said, but Jayden responded "why?"  And then I said well, because that's the way things work, or something like that.  And Jayden said "why?"  Luckily he then got distracted.  But I know it's just the beginning.  So scary.  He already talks nonstop as it is, so when the "why" comes out, we're all in trouble.  (that includes you Gwamma!)

Jayden enjoying day 6 of his advent calendar: watercolor paints!  We talked to Carmen while he was painting and he said "Daddy I color."  I asked what he was coloring with and he said "I paint."  He was so excited to paint, it was awesome.  And he only spilled the entire cup of dirty water once.  Even awesomer.
Today was my last day of single mothering, at least for a few days.  We had a good day, even though we were cooped up inside all day long.  I was waiting for something to be delivered, supposedly between 11 and 4.  First of all, terrible timing.  Second of all, they never came.  And then it was raining all day today, too, so we couldn't even play in the backyard.  But Jayden was a trooper.  We went for a really long walk this morning (it was supposed to be my 25 minute run/walk with the kiddos, but Jayden wanted to walk when were as far out as we were going to go, so it turned into a one hour and ten minute slow walk.  Oh well.

We played all over the house today, and had very few fits.  It was nice.  It also helped that he did actually sleep through the night last night, just waking up at 5:10 am this morning.  I pulled him into bed with me and convinced him to sleep until about 7:00 am.  I didn't sleep a ton from 5 to 7, but at least I didn't have to be conscious or aware or anything.

Playing with the Christmas lights on the window seat.

Jayden in a box.
I asked him to smile and this is the face he gave me.  And then afterwards said "I no smile."  Typical Jayden.
Also, as Carmen just pointed out, notice the Jordan gear.  Jayden loves him some Michael Jordan, much to Carmen's and my delight.  We always talk about the picture on his wall over hsi bed (thanks Uncle Alex!) and always point out when he's wearing his Jordan gear.  It's one way to convince him to wear a bib: "you don't want to get your Jordan shirt/jacket/pants/etc. dirty, do you?!?"  And almost immediately, bib on.  Amazing.

We had been cooped up so much all day I decided to go out to dinner with him.  We just went down the street, but it was nice to be in a place other than the house, and I think it did him a lot of good too.  He ate nearly his entire meal and then dipped his cheese bread in my au jus sauce.  Totally gross in my opinion, but he liked it so whatever.

At our dinner date.  Our first attempt at a booster seat went really well.  It helped him not spill as much, I could hear him better in the noisy restaurant and I think he liked being taller.
All in all, it hasn't been a bad 5 days, they've just been long.  But we have one more day off, and the whole family will be together so hopefully we can share some of the Jayden duties.  :)

Thursday, December 5, 2013

Wow it's been too long.

I don't even know how long it has been.  Sorry.  Things seemed to have gotten in the way.  Things being life - work, family, sleep (sort of but not really), etc.

So, what's happened in the last 10 days?
Well, Jayden got his cast.  He got the award for the smallest fracture of the week and of the month.  And not because he's the smallest person but because his fracture was so close to not being fractured that it almost wasn't.  It's good because it means he won't have the cast on very long but it sucks because it means he was so close to not having a cast at all.

Showing you his cast!

Laughing on the floor.  And this is one of the few pictures where the cast is actually still white around his thumb.
He alternates between wanting the cast offfff and wanting "orange" on the other arm.  He's actually really responsible, and not just for a two year old.  When he's in the bathtub he raises his arm and tries not to put it in the water.  He also gets concerned when it gets dirty, even though the entire circle around his thumb is now dark.

Grandma and Grandpa arrived late Tuesday night, after Jayden was asleep.  So clearly Wednesday was spent primarily within inches of Grandma.

Despite what it looks like, they're not playing dead.  They're playing trucks.

Thursday, as most of you probably remember, was Thanksgiving.  As I expected, Jayden and Gwamma spent their day playing, Carmen and Gwampa spent their day with football and drinks.  And I spent my day in the kitchen.  And Jasmine was wherever she felt most loved, or where the most meat was.  I didn't do too bad, we were only a little bit late on dinner.  But Jayden is to blame for part of it: he napped for over two hours!  I think Gwamma tires him out.

The family at the table.
Needless to say we were all overstuffed by the end of turkey day.  It was a good day but it was long.

Friday we had plans to go to the zoo but it was raining in the morning so we chose the aquarium instead.  Lots of other people had the same idea, but it wasn't terrible.  And Jayden always enjoys the fishes.

Climbing on the rocks to see the fishes.

Relaxing on a bench with Gwampa.

A classic Jayden face.

Checking out the sea cucumbers, anemones, etc.
Jayden was completely exhausted by the end of the adventure.  We went to lunch and he passed out in my lap - actually he did the same thing at lunch on Wednesday and Saturday so maybe it was his trend for the weekend.

It's kinda dark - but his head is at the bottom of the picture, his one foot is straight back and his other foot is up in the air.  And he's completely passed out in the middle of the Yardhouse.

Saturday was a low-key day.  We walked around to a farmer's market and had lunch.  And then we went to get our Christmas tree!

Mommy and Jayden in the trees.

The family with our tree!  (yes, in SoCal we pick out our Christmas tree with sunglasses on - it's pathetic, I do know that).

Jayden doing some QC on Daddy's work with the tree.
We spent the afternoon/evening playing around the house and relaxing.

Jayden and Jasmine "sweeping" on the stairs before dinner.

Jayden took this one!

Goofing off before bedtime.
And then Sunday we finished decorating the tree and house.  Jayden does love the "yights."

Jayden's advent calendar.  We're on Day 5.  So far Jayden likes it, although today he told me "I get 'nother one."

Jazzy Santa, according to Carmen.

Family stockings.  And if you look closely, me in the mirror with holiday spirit aka a santa hat.  Jayden kept telling me to "take i' offf."

More goofing off.
There are so many anecdotes I can't even keep up with all of them.

The best one tonight: we were reading the lake book before bed and there's a page with a water bug on it.  It has four legs, so we were counting the legs: one, toooo, fwee, fo'.  So I asked him old he was.  And he said "TWO!  And you one."  I said, "oh, I'm one?"  He said "yeah, you one.  Daddy one too."  So apparently Daddy and I got a huge break and won't have to grow up for a really long time.  Jayden's going to have to start paying for us apparently.

His two favorite songs, The Girl is Mine (aka "mine mine") and P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing) (aka "na na na song") are all we listen to in the car.  It's actually quite impressive how much he can sing along.  He does the breathing thing on PYT and can get all of the na-na-nas right.  He knows the tune/phrases but doesn't quite get all the words.  To be fair, I didn't get all the words until I looked at the lyrics either.  It's awesome.

Carmen has been out of town since Monday night.  It's been a tough week, but Jayden has actually been quite good.  Tuesday night I had a work event (and luckily got a babysitter last minute since Carmen was gone) and he was hysterical.  He threw a complete fit and refused to eat dinner.  And then woke up at 5 am on Wednesday.  Last night was better, but he took forever to go to bed and woke up in the middle of the night - I think separation fear or something.  Tonight he went down much easier; we'll see how the night goes.

But despite the sleep issues, he's just so charming.  I've taught him the difference between red lights and green lights.  So as we drive home we look for green lights and anytime he sees one he shrieks "GWEEN YIGHT!!!!"  Sometimes it scares me, thinking he's screaming about something else.  And then when we see a red light, he'll say "no wed yight.  no WED yight."  So I have to explain it's only for a minute and then we'll get a gween yight again.  He also likes turning corners, so I explain to him that we turn "yeft" and "wight."  He much prefers yeft to wight, but really, don't we all?

Those are a few things I can think of.  I know there's more.  I'll put more up as my brain starts functioning again and I have a few moments.  Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, relaxing and full of good food!
