It's the weekend, baby!

This is a slightly belated post - this week was nine months for Jayden!  For some reason, nine months seems like a big milestone to me - but I have no idea why.
He was less than cooperative in holding up my sign for the picture, but we managed to get a few:

What was a big milestone this week is that Jayden is showing signs of crawling!  He has voluntarily rolled onto his stomach, both at home and at daycare.  And then he works so so so hard to maneuver himself around.  He hasn't mastered the crawling motion yet, he kind of pulls and strains and struggles, but he manages to turn himself around.  He also held himself up on his hands and knees last Monday (with me spotting him closely).  So I think one day soon Carmen and I will be screwed and will be spending our weekends baby-proofing the house.
We don't have big plans for father's day - but we'll do something.  Carmen has to go to San Diego today to have lunch with a client, so Jayden and I will be father's day shopping and generally hanging out.

He's been extremely tired recently - maybe all this new movement is wearing him out.  He slept 11 straight hours the other night - from a little after 8:00 pm until 7:00 am.  That's the first time he's slept that long without us going in there and getting him back to sleep.  Today he woke up at 6:30 am, went back to sleep from 7:45 to 8:30 and went back down for a nap around 10:15 (after screaming in my arms for about 25 minutes because he was so tired).  I'm hesitant to leave the house if he is so tired, but I think it will be good for him to get out of the house (and for me to get out of the house!).
I swear, depending on the angle, he sometimes looks like two different people.  This was him passed out on my lap this morning.

Hope all the dads and grandpas out there have a wonderful father's day tomorrow.  We look forward to seeing many of you in the next couple of weeks!

  1. Nine months is a huge milestone, because now every day is one day more that he spends outside than he spent in your belly :)

Excited for the crawling! slash, sorry for the babyproofing. See you soon! xoxo

  2. True, except since jayden was born at 37/38 weeks, he actually hit the time outside my belly > time inside my belly milestone a couple weeks ago. But I think you're right, that is probably why it seems like a big deal.
