Can the weekend last a little longer? Please?

I just want like 23,563 extra days.  That's doable, right?!?

Thursday was Jayden's three year check up.  I still cannot believe he's three.  As expected, this was the feature of his outfit:

He was measured, weighed, poked and prodded.  He came in at 42" tall, which is in the 99.5% percentile - meaning there is maybe 1 kid his age who is taller than him.  He weighed in at just under 36 lbs, which is the 90th percentile.  His BMI is 10 or 15%.  His weight has increased - he had been in the 50th or 70th percentile up until now, but I think it's finally catching up with his height.  And he's just such a solid kid.  As he was sitting on the exam table in his underwear, I totally had a moment.  I didn't take a picture, but I just suddenly realized he is absolutely a kid.  And it's only going to get worse (slash better).  And it made me happy and sad.  And for whatever reason I looked back at some of my blog posts from his first three months of life tonight.  And first I may have convinced myself that I will never have a second kid.  And second, I don't want to go back to the first 12 weeks, but there is something so sweet and wonderful about those new baby pictures.

And it also reminded me of this, one of my favorite quotes:
Listen to the mustn'ts, child. Listen to the don'ts. Listen to the shouldn'ts, the impossibles, the won'ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me... Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.

One more pictures of him in the waiting room before his turn to "check my body to make sure I healthy":

Yesterday was TGI(B)F for sure.  What a few weeks it has been.  I am nowhere near ready to say things are "normal" at work, but there are glimpses of "okay," if certain things can be settled.  So Friday night Carmen convinced me it would be a good idea to go see Drake v  Lil' Wayne.  Not my favorite artists, but free tickets, a night out, sure, why not?  So yesterday came and all I wanted to do was sleep.  Going to a high energy concert with Carmen's work people where I had to be social was not what I was trying to do.  But I did.  Jayden threw a fit, of course, when I told him Katrina was coming.  He sobbed and spent the next thirty minutes being and trying his best to get tears to come.  But about 10 minutes after I left, according to Katrina, he was fine and talking to her.  They played race cars, ate dinner, colored, and he tricked her into reading an extra long book before bedtime!

The concert turned out to be fun, maybe because I had low expectations.  But also, this new format of two artists performing at the same concert, especially when they've collaborated together a lot, is pretty cool.  A few pictures from the concert:

Today was all normal - Jayden woke up extremely happy to see us in the morning, which is always nice.  We went to swim lessons, now at 10 am, which is SO much better, and then some errands.  At the end of swim lessons, Jayden jumped in off the block in the deep end and swam probably 15 feet all by himself, without Ms. Stacy touching him at all.  He'd put his head underwater, swim, come up for air, go back and swim some more.  It was awesome.  Today he was by himself, but next week he'll have another kid with him, who is apparently kind of hyper, so that will be interesting.  I think Ms. Stacy is a bit nervous about it.  We'll see.  We may regret leaving the noon lesson, with the great match.

The best part of the day came as we were finishing dinner.  In case you all didn't know, tomorrow is a rematch of the Super Bowl - Seahawks v. Broncos.

Don't tell Von, but even Carmen was encouraging Jayden.  Yay!  I am now 1 for 2,984,789 in this household.

Tomorrow we have a birthday party and soccer, and then probably some more swimming and maybe some frozen yogurt if we can fit everything in.  We'll see.  Happy Saturday y'all.
