Just general fun

Carmen has had a lot of work-related events the past few nights, so Jayden and I have been goofing off together.  Last night Jayden managed to take an hour nap just before dinner, bath and back to bed.  Tonight he wanted to fall asleep on the way home, but I tried my best to keep him awake.  I succeeded and we ate dinner together, played with some trains and went upstairs to act crazy.  I managed to pull out my camera and took a few videos tonight.

First, in the last few days Jayden has started making car/train/plane/etc. noises, rather than just letting me make the noise.  He loves driving things on people, so we were driving his trains on my arms and legs, going "choo-choo".

He also loves crashing, and loves to go "booomm!" when two cars/trains/whatever collide.

To get Jayden to go upstairs for bath and bedtime we tell him "let's go play soccer!"  (It also works for me to just start walking upstairs.  Generally, not always, but generally if I go somewhere Jayden follows close behind).  "Playing soccer" basically means running around like a crazy person with Jasmine giggling and falling and just generally burning off some energy.  I think Jasmine is finally starting to see the benefits of having a little brother.  My guess is there are still a lot of negatives in her mind, but there may be one or two positives sneaking in there.

The best part of the night is after we finish the bath, dry off, put on pajamas, brush teeth and head back to the bedroom, Jayden has to give Jasmine a hug.  He finds her, wherever she is and goes "hu-uckg, hu-uckg" and then gently puts his arms around Jasmine's neck and lays his head on her head.  I need to get a picture of that, but I'm always trying to do a million things at bedtime and grabbing a camera is not always at the top of my mind.  It's just the sweetest thing, though, because he's so gentle and Jasmine only slightly pulls away from him.  I will make a conscious effort to get a photo of it this week - I want it recorded for my sake too!
